This week I focused on fixing my mistakes. Last week I had problems with my blog, the writing was spaced out widely. After asking Mr. Barker for help, I discovered that I had been typing in the title section instead of the actual writing section. Barker fixed my mistake and then I went on to work on my script.
The script I had so far seemed too extra for me. The plot set up for a long film and if I had continued to write how I'd been writing, it would've been a train wreck. That's why I decided to think of the ending before it happened. In my head I have a vivid image of the ending. Now I just have to answer the question "How will I get there?" I have to put long thought into the events before the ending. This following week I need to finish up the first part of the script. I'll think out thee basic costume design for the two characters and I'll make a list of the props I'll need. I need to get enough done so that by next week I can start filming.

This week I worked on the script of my film, I've yet to choose a clear theme of the film. I just started typing without a thought in my head, other than I wanted it to be a thriller. I have decided that it will take place in the woods. Something evil lurks in those woods that if it catches you, it will traumatize you or maybe even kill you. The film will start with one of the main characters running for her life through the woods, that main character will meet the other main character shortly after and they will try to survive using the help of one another.
My hopes for this film are simple. Although, I'm not sure I can accomplish them. The part of the script I'm working on at the moment is just a draft and I still need to work out how short this short film is. I'm thinking 15 minutes at most. The hardest part about making a film is the fact that my experience is so little. Yes, I have made Youtube videos and Instagram edits but none of those are scripted. Scripting things is a whole other playground. I have wrote songs before, but that's different. Plus no one can vouch for me and say those songs are good. My acting skills are also probably not that good. My only acting credits are from the 8th grade musical at Ellis when I played Deb, the secretary in Elf Jr. The Musical, Movies have to be interesting and have a point. I was thinking of making a thriller but I don’t think I have the skills to write a thriller. Hopefully, as I continue in writing the script I can think of a clear theme and then I might even start the script all the way over. |
